Edit text, type, draw, sign and more
A full editor with the tools on the left and the page filling the view. Click any line of text to change it, or type anywhere, in about two hundred fonts with bold, italic, underline, any colour and clickable links. Existing lines can keep their own font or be restyled in any of them. Whiteout, highlight, draw shapes and freehand, place images and a signature, add fillable form fields, with undo all the way back. Everything runs in your browser.
Clicking the document’s text edits it in place: the file’s own text object is rewritten. If a replacement needs letters the embedded font does not carry, that piece is drawn in the closest matching library font and the editor says so. Whiteout hides content but does not remove it; for anything confidential use Redact PDF.
Questions
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- No. Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript — your file is never uploaded to a server, because there is no server. You can confirm it by opening your browser’s network tab, or by disconnecting from the internet once the page has loaded: the tool still works.
- Can I change text that is already printed in the PDF?
- Yes, genuinely. In the Text tool, click any line and retype it: the PDF’s own text object is rewritten inside the file, keeping the original font, size, colour and position, with no cover and no overlay. The one limit is physics: most PDFs embed only the characters they actually used, so a replacement that needs other letters is drawn in the closest matching library font instead, and the editor says so before you save. You can also restyle any line into one of the two hundred library fonts on purpose.
- Which fonts can I use?
- The built-in Helvetica plus about two hundred open-licensed families across serif, sans, display, handwriting and monospace, Arabic-capable families like Cairo, Tajawal and Amiri included, with bold, italic and underline where the family carries those cuts, any colour, and sizes set in points. The chosen font is embedded into the saved file, so it displays everywhere, and only the characters you used are included to keep the file small.
- Does whiteout remove what is underneath?
- No. Whiteout paints over content, exactly like correction fluid on paper, and the original stays in the file underneath. For anything confidential use Redact PDF, which removes the content itself.
- What do the form fields do?
- They become real fillable fields in the saved file, the same kind Fill PDF form works with, so anyone opening the PDF in any reader can type into them or tick them.
- Do the edits open in other PDF readers?
- Yes. The fonts you use are embedded into the file and everything else becomes ordinary page content, so it displays and prints in every reader.
