Word, Excel and PowerPoint files cannot be converted faithfully inside a browser, so these six conversions are the exception on this site. Your file is uploaded, converted, and the copy is deleted the moment the result comes back — it is never stored, and its contents are never logged. Every other tool here still runs entirely on your own device.

- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- These six conversions are the only tools here that need a server. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are not something a browser can read or write faithfully, so your file is sent to our converter, converted, and the copy is deleted the moment the result is sent back — it is never written to a disk, never stored, and its contents are never logged. Every other tool on this site, including merge, split, sign, redact and repair, runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
- How long is my file kept?
- It is deleted the moment the converted file is sent back. The converter writes it to memory rather than to a disk, handles one document at a time, and the instance holding it is discarded afterwards. Its contents are never written to a log — the converter’s own output is discarded for exactly that reason, because an office suite prints fragments of a document it fails to parse.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Fifty megabytes. Beyond that a conversion takes longer than anyone is willing to wait, so the request is refused rather than left hanging.
- Why did my file fail to convert?
- Usually one of three things: it is password protected, so the converter cannot open it; it is damaged, in which case try the repair tool first; or it contains something the converter does not understand, such as an unusual embedded object.
- Do I need an account, and is there a watermark?
- Neither. No sign-up, no email, no watermark on anything you produce, and no limit on how many files you convert.
