Most problems with a PDF tool come down to the file rather than the tool. Below are the ones we see, and what each actually means. If none of it fits, write to us — a real person reads it.

Email dev@roundsocial.com. Tell us which tool, what you expected and what happened. Please do not attach the document — we cannot accept files, and we would rather not receive something confidential. A description of the problem is enough, and if a file is genuinely needed we will say so.

A PDF will not open in any of the tools

The file’s structure is probably damaged rather than its contents. Repair PDF rebuilds the index that says where everything lives, which recovers most broken files. It cannot rebuild content that was never received, so a download that stopped part-way needs downloading again — and it will tell you when that is what happened.

A conversion failed

Usually one of three things. The file is password protected, so the converter cannot open it. It is damaged — try Repair first. Or it contains something the converter does not understand, such as an unusual embedded object. There is also a 50 MB limit, and files above it are refused rather than left to hang.

PDF to Word, Excel or PowerPoint is marked “coming soon”

Because we have not found a way to do it that produces something worth handing you. A PDF records where marks sit on a page; it does not record paragraphs, cells or slides, so converting one back means reconstructing structure that was never in the file. If you still have the original document, editing that will always beat anything rebuilt from a PDF. To get pages out as images, PDF to JPG works today.

My text was refused because of the characters in it

Watermarks, page numbers and form fields are drawn with the fonts built into the PDF format, which cover Latin text including accents but not scripts like Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese or Japanese. Those characters are refused up front, and named, rather than being saved as something illegible.

Redacting warned me about other pages

That warning means the words you covered are still readable somewhere you did not draw — a repeated header, or content shared between pages. The pages you redacted are genuinely clean; the ones named in the warning are not. Draw over them too if they matter. Redacting also removes comments, links, form fields and bookmarks from the whole document, which is listed before you commit.

Comparing two files said there was no text

The page is a scan — a picture of text rather than text. There is nothing in it to compare, so those pages are reported rather than shown as rewritten, which would be a confidently wrong answer. Comparison works on documents with selectable text.

A large file is slow, or the tab runs out of memory

Nearly every tool here runs on your own device, so a very large document depends on your browser and how much memory it has. A file that fails on a phone will often succeed on a laptop. That is the trade for not uploading anything.

Which tools send my file anywhere?

Three: Word to PDF, Excel to PDF and PowerPoint to PDF. Those need a real office engine, which cannot run in a browser. Each says so on the page before you choose a file, and the uploaded copy is deleted the moment the result comes back. Everything else runs entirely on your device — you can disconnect once the page has loaded and carry on. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
